Stage 1 of 4 · Discovery

It all starts with understanding what isn't visible from the outside.

Before talking design, development, or technology — we understand the business. A 60-minute scoping call, audience analysis, competitor analysis, and what makes you different. Without this groundwork, any site is a guess.

What happens in this stage

What we cover in the call

a 60-minute discovery call

A personal meeting — face to face, Zoom, or phone. No forms. No surveys. A real conversation about your business, the challenges, and the vision.

Audience definition

Who is your customer? Where do they look for you? What do they expect to see within 3 seconds? Without this knowledge the site falls into the "pretty but doesn't convert" trap.

Competitor analysis

We look at 3-5 direct competitors: what they do well, where they fall short, and where you can be different — not more expensive, just different.

Measurable goals

A good site is not built on "looking pretty." It is built on one or two goals — to grow inquiries, to sell, to build trust. We define what a successful site is, together with you.

What we need from you

What I expect you to prepare

5 simple things that will turn the call into the most important hour of the process.

1. Examples of sites you love — not necessarily from your field. Sites that feel right to you, professional, that draw you in. Also examples of sites you do not love — sometimes that matters more.

2. Existing materials — logo (if any), color palette, brand book, professional photos. If none — no problem, we build it all from scratch.

3. A list of 3-5 competitors — do not ignore them. We will look at them together and find where you can be different and better.

4. A description of your "ideal customer" — how old? What are they looking for? What scares them? What do they need to see on the site to pick up the phone?

5. An approximate budget — not a hard requirement. But a rough idea (5K? 15K? 30K?) saves time and helps me propose the right solution, not beyond capacity or below expectations.

At the end of this stage

What you get

Concrete deliverables. Not promises.

Detailed brief document
A written summary of what we discussed, the customer, the goals, and the strategy. A document you can come back to.
Proposed sitemap
Which pages, the content of each, and how the customer moves between them. The foundation we will build the design on.
Tailored quote
An accurate price, a detailed breakdown of what is and is not included, and a realistic timeline. No fine print.
Strategic recommendations
3-5 immediate action recommendations you can implement even if you do not choose to build with me — a gift.
FAQ

In Stage 01 we ask

Is the call really free?
Yes. A 60-minute call, no obligation, no "but there is a consulting fee." I invest the time in the call — if we are not a fit, we part respectfully.
How long from the call until I get a quote?
Usually 1-2 business days. After the call I sit, think, research your field, and come back with a written, detailed proposal.
Do you sign an NDA?
Absolutely, if you wish. A mutual NDA covering both sides — we send it before the call if that is important to you.
Is the call just a preliminary stage, or part of the project?
A preliminary stage. If you choose to build with me, this call counts as a bonus to the project. If not — we stay friends.
What if I am not sure I need a site?
Excellent. That is exactly what this call is for. We talk about needs, alternatives (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp Business), and decide together whether a site is really the right thing for you right now.
